(LAS VEGAS) — Tribal leaders, lawmakers and regulators will be convening later this year at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort for a three-day symposium focused on tribal economic development. The Tribal Green Symposium confirmed this week that Joy Beckerman, a long-time veteran of the industrial hemp industry will be leading a session at that event entitled “Industry Snapshot: Hemp: It’s important history and future.”
Beckerman will share a narrative and context shaped by over 25 years of involvement with the industrial hemp industry where she has held numerous roles on the national and global stage.
In addition to her current role as the President of the Hemp Industries Association, Beckerman sits on the National Board of Directors for NORML (the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and serves as the Principal Industry Hemp Specialist at Hemp Ace International, a New York-based consulting, legal support, expert witness and brokerage firm.
“Joy Beckerman offers an incredibly valuable and unique perspective of this space–one that has been shaped by her decades of unique experience and contagious passion for the opportunities that hemp provides,” said La Vonne Peck, one of the symposium organizers. “We are excited to have Joy come speak to Indian Country at the Tribal Green Symposium,” said Peck, “the opportunities are endless.”
The event is slated for November 13-15, 2018 at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, with the last day dedicated to a charity golf tournament to raise funds for university hemp research.
Registration and details for the symposium can be found across Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram as Tribal Green Symposium or at NativeNetworkConsulting.com and atbit.ly/tribalgreen.
